Dubai Watch Week and Christie’s London have announced that on September 11th and 12th, they will host the first London-based edition of the international Horological Forum. The first Horological Forum debuted at Dubai Watch Week in 2015, and is intended to provide “a space for intellectual discussion between leading watch curators, pioneers, authors, historians, collectors, brands and industry professionals.” Participating panelists include Greubel Forsey’s Stephen Forsey; highly regarded English independent watchmaker Roger Smith; independent watchmakers Fiona Kruger and Peter Speake-Marin; and company CEOs such as Moser’s Edouard Meylan, and Bovet’s Pascal Raffy.
Panel discussions will cover such topics as the legacy of Dr. George Daniels and Gerald Genta, the rise and influence of small independent brands (moderated by HODINKEE Editor-in-Chief Jack Forster) and the ongoing shifts in buying and communications patterns created by the rise of e-commerce and the creation of online media and collector communities.
The event will take place at Christie’s London, and for more information on registration and attendance, visit Dubaiwatchweek.com.
