Here’s something I didn’t think I’d see during SalonQP: six Andersen Genève worldtimer references (all five standard editions plus a worldtime chronograph) together in one room. According to Svend Andersen’s team â who are exhibiting the so-called “fifth edition” worldtimer at the Salon and who helped source the other four you see here â this is the first time so many of the company’s world-timers have found themselves next to one another.
Naturally, we had to take a family photo. Would you expect anything else? We arranged the worldtimers you see here in order from the oldest to the newest, from left to right. I haven’t spent much time with Andersen’s worldtimers before, but they’re pretty amazing. In fact, they’re the particular kind of amazing you get from a watchmaker who spent years working on this very complication at Patek Philippe, and they’ve been a pillar of his own line-up for the past 25 years. Another pillar is his erotic-themed watches â really, Andersen is kind of the go-to guy if that’s what you’re into â but that’s something I’d rather leave at that.
Back to worldtimers. Here is a closer look at each individually.
These six Andersen references are part of a much larger special exhibition on worldtimers at SalonQP, and you should definitely go check it out if you happen to be around London this weekend.
