Last Thursday we were joined by more than 50 guests at Bulgari’s new marble-clad boutique on Fifth Avenue in New York City to toast the brand’s two (yes, count ’em, two) Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève winners. Both the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton and the Octo Finissimo Automatic took home trophies back in November, for the Tourbillon and Escapement Watch Prize and the Men’s Watch Prize, respectively. So yeah, there was a lot to celebrate.
In addition to there being plenty of watches on hand – including a few limited editions only available at the New York flagship – there were watch-themed cocktails being mixed to order on bar carts positioned throughout the boutique and both Daniel Paltridge, President of Bulgari North America, and Guido Terreni, Bulgari Managing Director for Timepieces, were in attendance. Terreni and our own Editor-in-Chief, Jack Forster, even treated guests to a short conversation about the relationship between design and watchmaking, especially as it pertains to the world of ultra-thin watches.
Thank you to all who came and we hope to see you at future HODINKEE events in 2018 and beyond!
