This week we’ll be at Dubai Watch Week, where our editors will be bringing you live coverage of new watch releases, analysis from some of the industry’s top minds, and, of course, tons of photos of incredible watches. We’ll also be hosting some panel discussions and even a HODINKEE meet-up as part of the event and we want to see you there! All the details are below.
On November 17, managing editor Stephen Pulvirent will be hosting a pair of panel discussions. The first, Digital Curators, will take place at 10:00 AM and will look at how technology is used by brands, collectors, and journalists to communicate in new, diverse ways. Stephen will be joined by David Sadigh, founder and CEO of the Digital Luxury Group; Su Jia Xian, founder and editor of Watches By SJX; Max Büsser, founder of MB&F; and Sean Li, editor-in-chief of Revolution Hong Kong and Editorial Director, Watches of Tatler Asia.
Later that day, at 5:00 PM, Stephen will moderate a panel about Smart Watches, with Preston Moxcey, Vice President at Fossil Group and general manager of Misfit; John Marcheschi, an independent luxury consultant; and Sean Li. We’ll be examining the ways in which smart watches are drawing from traditional watchmaking, what impact smart watches are having on the watch industry at large, and how consumers are reacting to these new choices.
We will also be hosting a HODINKEE meet-up that evening, immediately after the Smart Watches panel, at 6:00 PM. Members of the HODINKEE team, including Stephen and our senior European editor, Arthur Touchot, will be in attendance, along with the speakers from our panels. You can find all the details here â please RSVP through the Dubai Watch Week website or to email@example.com if you’d like to join us. And, of course, you can follow our team in Dubai via HODINKEE Live, starting tomorrow.
