Was looking around on the map in Winston-Salem for somewhere to eat being from out of town and seen a coin shop. Also seen that they were opened on Saturday which I am not accustomed to seeing near me. Stopped in and grabbed my fill of silver and was very impressed with the entire process. Would highly recommend Apex Coins.  We have been cleaning drawers and had a collection of mixed gold jewelry we didn't have a need for any longer.  We had never sold scrap gold before so was leery.  Looked at reviews and went with Apex for that reason.  We dealt with Danni (..sorry, I think that was her name..).  As so many other have said, she explained everything step by step and gave us what we believe was a fair price.  We will return to Apex when the time comes...or, if we try a service closer to home, Apex has placed the bar that any other will have to meet, and I think it is rather high.  Thank you Danni and Apex Coins! 07.22.2021 Update.  So we had a chance to visit Apex Gold Silver Coin again last week.  This time we had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Jeff.  This visit was about old silver coins and once again we have nothing but good things to say about these folks.  Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and most important, honest.  He took time to educate us on some of the finer points of coin collecting and value. Owner Jeff. I grew up here in Winston Salem NC and collected coins and antiques with my grandfather. My grandparents raised me until about age twelve could be part of my addiction to old toys, coins, yard-sales, auctions, and anything cool and vintage. My grandfather told me once you can shear a sheep many times you can only skin them once.

Tania

Tania is the Boss she handles the day to day in the coin shop and keeps up with market pricing. Tania moved here to Winston Salem about twelve years ago and still hates the winter to this date. Tania is from Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish and has an accounting degree that comes in handy in a coin shop. Do not mess with Tania or you will have to deal with Steve.

Steve

Steve is security he is not a fan of strangers. He sleeps most of the day and most people never see him. But if you are loud or aggressive he will make his presence known. Steve likes to bark at the wind and leaves all night and cuddle with Tania while she watches TV. Steve also enjoys harassing Floki the other dog by taking his toys from him. Steve is an expert in dateless buffalo nickels.

Floki

Floki is the greeter at the coin shop but please don’t pet him or encourage his bad behavior. Floki enjoys laying in the middle of the floor in our small coin shop I believe he is trying to trip us so we get hurt and stay home with him to throw his ball. Floki loves to chase the ball and bark at Tania when she ignores his efforts to play with him while she is doing something.
